Oman / Staff Hours
Staff Hours
Record the hours your hourly employees worked. Payroll takes the hours from here, so a missing entry means missing pay.
How it works
- 1Open the employeeClick the row to expand it.
- 2Add the hoursPick the day and type the hours.
- 3SaveOne entry per employee per day.
- 4Payroll uses itHours times the hourly rate.
Add hours
- Open HR in the menu, then the Staff Hours tab.
- Click the employee's row to expand it.
- Use that employee's own Add form: the date and the hours. Submit with that employee's own button.
The page stays open on the same employee after you save, so you can add the next day.
Change an entry
Every entry has a date box and its own Update button. Change the hours or the date and click Update. If you move an entry to a day that already has hours for that employee, the two are added together.
What you see
The page shows all entries, from the first one, with running totals per employee. There is no date range to pick.
Weekend, holidays and the working day
The Omani weekend is Friday and Saturday. Public holidays are marked by you in the portal, under HR, Holidays. The standard working day is 8 hours. There is no preset list: Oman announces holidays late and Eid dates depend on the moon. Mark a day, or a range of days (up to 366), with an optional name, and remove it if it changes. Fill working days skips weekends and holidays.
The system sets no limits on hours. Enter the hours actually worked, including during Ramadan. There is no overtime or Ramadan rule in the system.
For accountants
- Model x_staff_hours_entry: employee, date, hours, hourly_rate_snapshot, gross. A database rule allows one entry per employee per day.
- For hourly contracts the payslip worked days come from these entries. For monthly employees staff hours have no effect.
- Weekend days (PORTAL_WEEKEND_DAYS, now 4,5 for Friday and Saturday) are a portal setting. Public holidays are marked by the customer in the portal and are not computed.
